If you are searching for a place near to Kathmandu for a ride or a place to hang out in the lap of hills along with the lake then Markhu is the appropriate place to travel. Markhu is located to south-western side of Kathmandu. It is about 70 KM away from the Kathmandu valley. Since the road is not good it will take around 4 hours drive from Kathmandu. The way of transportation can be cars or bikes. We can go from Kirtipur following the way to Dakshinkali to reack Markhu. Even we can hike from Chandragiri to Markhu if you are interested in hiking.

Markhu is a small village by the side of man made lake, Kulekhani dam. The cool weather and the peaceful environment is the specialty of this place. We can even do boating on the lake. There are lodges along the lake that provide facility for food and lodging for the tourist visiting the place. It is a best place to go with your friends or family for a night stay.
