Balthali

BALTHALI

If you are searching for a place for hiking near Kathmandu then Balthali is the place you would be visiting. Balthali is around 40 KM south-east from Kathmandu. Balthali is a small village away from city area. We can take a bus from Kathmandu to Panauti, then hike from Panauti to Balthali. There are two routes for hiking. One is the small roads just for hiking and the other are wide roads where even vehicle can run. You would better take the route with the small road. You would pass through various small villages and you would encounter rivers after short distance of walk. The best part of encountering a river is suspension bridge. Since most of the people living in the city area does not use those type of bridge, it is a new experience for those group of people. Also some people like those bridge since it is shaky and can be enjoyable. 

Walking around 3-4 hoours from Panauti we can reach Balthali village. There are various resorts where we can have lunch and take rest. The view of paddy field from the top is breath taking. The terrace structure of the land is the beauty seen from there. We can return along the wide road since the route is easy and fast.

It is one of the best place for short hike. Since it is near to Kathmandu, people from Kathmandu can go to the place and return in the same day.
